Let the Elements Sing & Dance

Let the Elements Sing & Dance is a composition written for kora and orchestra, which is a synthesis between African and Western Classical Music idioms. It draws from musical motifs and influences of instruments such as the goge (African Violin) into an orchestral language for the first time. The piece moves through four distinct movements symbolising the fundamental metaphysical elements of: Air, Earth, Water and Fire. It draws on primordial beginnings and our elemental nature as a reflection of wider universal principles. Let the Element’s Sing and Dance is centred around the axiom, ‘As above, So Below’.
