Lamentation is a lyrical album and the debut recording of Tunde Jegede as a composer and solo artist. It has become a classic amongst those in the know and hailed by BBC as a master piece, lauded by critics and was voted album of the year by The Wire magazine. Although exploring themes of sorrow and lament it is an uplifting album that allows one to transcend those emotions that are familiar to us all. Lamentation was described by one radio DJ in the US as ‘the most beautiful album ever’.
